On arrival at Alice Springs Airport you will be transferred to your hotel (flights to arrive prior to 12 noon).

See the sights including the Alice Springs Telegraph Station, School of the Air, Royal Flying Doctor Service and Alice Springs Reptile Centre.

Hotel: Aurora Alice Springs (Budget), Crowne Plaza Alice Springs Lasseters (Standard) or Chifley Alice Springs Resort (Superior), Alice Springs.

Travel through the West MacDonnell Ranges. Visit a camel farm, where there is time for a short camel ride (own expense). View majestic Atila (Mt. Conner) before arriving at Ayers Rock Resort.

This afternoon travel around the base of Uluru with a local Driver Guide. Learn about the native flora, fauna and intriguing cultural traditions of traditional owners, the Anangu, and discover an array of fascinating sacred sites. Join your Driver Guide for a walk to Mutitjulu Waterhole. Explore a number of caves and view Aboriginal rock paintings as your Guide interprets their meaning. Later visit Uluru - Kata Tjuta Cultural Centre where there is time to purchase some locally made Aboriginal art. Late afternoon witness the striking colour changes of Uluru at sunset while enjoying nibbles and sparkling wine.

After sunset, join us under the stars at our exclusive venue. Enjoy sparkling wine on arrival, then dine on a menu of steak, lamb sausages, chicken skewers and garlic prawns, salads and a tasty dessert. All accompanied by a selection of wines, beers and soft drinks. There's time for stargazing too (weather permitting).

Rise early this morning to travel to watch the first rays of the sun set the Red Centre alight. Then travel to the mystical domes of Kata Tjuta. On the way enjoy panoramic views of the southern side of Kata Tjuta before arriving at the base of Walpa Gorge. Spend some time exploring the gorge and the unusual conglomerate rock formations.

Return to Ayers Rock Resort.

You'll be transferred to Ayers Rock Airport for your onward flight (flights anytime).

Fitness requirement

Low to moderate level of fitness required:

  • Uluru: Low level of fitness required. The Kuniya Walk is approximately 1 hour gentle walk on flat ground.
  • Kata Tjuta: Moderate level of fitness required. Walking on uneven surface required to complete Walpa Gorge walk, however, guests can return to the coach at any time if needed.
