Depart Brisbane, and travel north on the Bruce Highway via the Sunshine Coast and Noosa. Traveling north along the Cooloola Coast, witness the wonder of Red Gorge and the Cooloola Coloured Sands, before seeing the 'Cherry Venture' shipwreck at Double Island Point.

Early Lunch stop at Rainbow Beach. Take time to relax, visit the local beach to swim overlooking coloured sands or wander through the local shops, before crossing over by barge to Fraser Island. Travel along Fraser's majestic Ocean Beach to Govi Creek and Dilli Beach - to set up camp in the forest. Relax and enjoy the afternoon serenity, or take a walk on the deserted beach. BBQ fish for tea, and your first night outdoors on Fraser Island.

Start the day with a healthy breakfast before walking to Lake Boomanjin (the worlds largest perched lake) and then 4WD to Lake Birrabeen. Enjoy the natural surrounds of the lake, or take a swim to prepare for the beauty of Central Station Rainforest. Be guided through this unique ecosystem and learn about the natural wildlife of the rain forest. Move on to Lake McKenzie for lunch, and relax, swim or snorkel. Be amazed by the green lake - Lake Wabby - surrounded by a Sand Blow. Back at camp, you can photograph unique sand wildflowers, or relax in the cool waters of Lake Boomanjin.

Time for further explorations. The first stop is at Eli Creek, the largest and fastest flowing creek on the East Coast. Continue on to the wreck of the 'Maheno' ... and then through the rainforest, to see the tortoises at Lake Allom. The drive along the beach, features the high coloured cliffs of The Cathedrals.

Explore Dundubara campsite or hike to Wungal Sandblow. Throughout the afternoon, enjoy beach fishing or a stroll along the beach, before dinner around the campfire.

Experience the adventure of Indian Head, and gaze over the beach to the south, the headlands to the north, and see the turtles, sharks and rays below, and even Humpback whales (when in season). Swim and snorkel in the Champagne Pools, before venturing further north to Orchid Beach.

Regretfully, it is time to pack up and return to civilisation. Before leaving, cast a line into the surf, or hike to the coastal cliffs to watch the sun rise, or take a stroll along the beach. Then the final run down the rugged Fraser coastline, before returning to the barge and the waiting mainland.

Arrival on Saturday at the Brisbane Transit Centre depends on the tide times.
