You'll be transferred by private car to the hotel. Nelson for amazing views of Hobart. Tonight you'll get to know everyone at a welcome reception, followed by dinner.

Take a free morning to enjoy the sights, sounds, flavours, colour and action of Hobart's Salamanca Market. This afternoon choose one from a selection of Included Choice sightseeing experiences. Maybe join a walking tour with a local expert for an insight into Hobart's history, people and places or a guided walk to uncover the history of alcohol in this fascinating city. Or why not visit Mawson's Huts Replica Museum. They've left nothing to the imagination with the historic replication of the base Douglas Mawson built in Antarctica during his Antarctic expedition of 1911-14.

Day : 3 Hobart - Strahan

This morning you'll head west to New Norfolk and the magnificent Mt. Field National Park, and see the spectacular Russell Falls. Visit the Wall in the Wilderness, a sculpture where artist Greg Duncan has hand-carved scenes into panels commemorating figures from the area's past and present. Drive along the rainforest bordered road of World Heritage protected Franklin-Gordon Wild Rivers National Park, to coastal Strahan.

Start the day with a cruise on the Gordon River and be awestruck by the beauty of the dark waters reflecting the pristine wilderness. Then stop and explore Sarah Island's brutal penal colony. See Hell's Gate and Heritage Landing, site of the 2,000 year old Huon Pine. Pass the mining and hydro electric towns of Rosebery and Tullah, as you travel to Cradle Mountain National Park.

This morning it's time to explore Cradle Mountain National Park. Join your Travel Director for a guided walk around Dove Lake then choose to meander through the forest and alpine heathlands on a purpose built board walk or for a more challenging hike, head to Marion's Lookout. If a close up encounter with a Tasmanian Devil or a pampering spa treatment sounds more like you, your Travel Director can assist you to make a booking.

This morning you'll visit Hellyers Road Distillery for a guided walk through the working distillery to see processes that deliver one of the finest single malt whiskys in the world. Visit Sheffield, town of the murals, before heading to 41° South Salmon & Ginseng Farm. Join the Pyka family to hear how they came to be salmon farmers when they arrived in Australia from Germany and sample their fresh smoked salmon and ginseng products. Continue through the Meander Valley to Tassie's 'northern capital' Launceston.

This morning you'll visit Cataract Gorge before you take a scenic country drive through the Tamar Valley. Then you're welcome at Josef Chromy Wines for a delicious Be My Guest lunch. The surrounding vineyards and lakes provide an idyllic location to taste some of the estate-grown cool climate wines and fresh Tasmanian produce. Your holiday concludes this afternoon. You'll be transferred to Launceston Airport for your onward flight.
