Day 1 - Hobart – Port Arthur

You will be picked up from your Hobart Hotel between 7.30-7.45am. Please advise at time of booking where you will be staying.

Start your trip with a visit to Richmond, then to the photogenic Tasman Peninsula for views over the Southern Ocean. Explore one of Tassie's tourist hotspots, the Port Arthur Historic Site. Learn about the life of a convict in a place once considered "Hell On Earth". Take the opportunity to view the site from aboard a cruise boat on the harbour. This afternoon we will visit the Tasmanian Devil Conservation Park to see and learn about the unique Tassie Devils.

Day 2 - Hobart to Bicheno

After a brief stop in the historic town of Ross, we make our way to Freycinet National Park where we will spend the rest of the day exploring. For those seeking a challenge, try the climb to the summit of Mt Amos or join a guided walk to Wineglass Bay, voted one of the world's top 10 beaches There are other free walking choices and a visit to Cape Tourville . This afternoon you have the opportunity to try some optional sea kayaking from Coles Bay. At dusk there is also the option of a guided tour to take a closer look at the life of the Little Penguins as they return nightly to their rookeries to feed their young (seasonal).

Day 3 - Bicheno (Bay of Fires) to Launceston

Soak up the coastal scenery along one of Australia's greatest journey's from Bicheno to St Helens. Stretch your legs and revitalise your senses with a peaceful beachwalk at the Bay of Fires. Visit the rainforests and waterfall at St Columba Falls, before heading into the pretty colourful city of Launceston.

Day 4 - Launceston to Cradle Mountain

Go west and spend the day at Cradle Mountain exploring some of the numerous walks within the world heritage listed national park. Take a stroll around Dove Lake, or head off to test your lungs with a hike to Marion's Lookout or on one of the many other great walks.

On The Beach

Day 5 - Cradle Mountain to Strahan

Head from the mountains to a waterfall walk along the old train line to Montezuma Falls on your way to the coast. Climb Henty Sand Dunes and stroll along the endless stretch of Ocean Beach with nothing but the wild "Roaring Forties" between you and South America.

Day 6 - Strahan to Hobart

Head south and inland today with a short walk to Nelson Falls, and take a drink from the famous Franklin River, where you'll learn about the beginning of the Greens Party. Drop in at Lake St Clair then finish the day at Mt Field NP and photogenic Russell Falls. Hug a tall tree goodbye then relax on your way back to Hobart through the picturesque Derwent Valley.

Important Notes

1. Please note that some of our planned activities are contingent on seasonal conditions. We will arrange alternative activities if this is the case.

2. Please note that some of our planned activities are contingent on seasonal conditions. Cooler months (April to October) day or night time temperatures can reach below zero. Please ensure you pack your bags appropriately. Warm jacket, thermals, woolen hat is advisable year round. A hat and sunscreen is essential from October to April due to high UV radiation. A water bottle (1.5l) is also advisable.

3. There are often no alternatives for those who do not want to do walks apart from waiting at the trail head until the group returns - this may require a wait of up to 3 hours.

4. Passengers with special meal requirements must ensure they or their travel agent is  inform of this at the time of booking. Vegetarians and those with any special meal requirements will need to provide additional assistance to the leader for meal preparation.

5. Please note this trip finishes on arrival into Hobart around 18.00 on day 6. Please take this into consideration when booking any flights out of Hobart.

6. Multi share cabins are divided up by sex; therefore please be aware that couples will not be sharing the same room as standard on this tour.
Note: the price advertised is based on hostel accommodation, multi shared with shared facilities. Prices are available for those that wish to upgrade to a twin/double or single occupancy room in a hostel, however they are subject to availability.
