Overview

Itinerary
Day 1 - LAUNCESTON to CRADLE MOUNTAIN.
Our tour begins today in the city of Launceston, Australia’s third oldest city. Situated at the junction of the South Esk, North Esk and Tamar Rivers, we will take time out here for some lunch and also a visit to the Cataract Gorge. Our late afternoon drive takes us into the mountains of the Cradle Mountain National Park.
Overnight: Cradle Mountain (Cabins or Lodge)

Day 2 - CRADLE MOUNTAIN to STRAHAN
Explore this magnificent World Heritage Area of Cradle Mountain with a stroll around Dove Lake or hike to Marion’s Lookout. This area is truly one of the highlights of Tasmania. Mid afternoon we venture further into the Wild West as we make our journey to the small township of Strahan on the edge of Macquarie Harbour.

Day 3 - STRAHAN to LAKE St CLAIR (OR TARRALEAH)
Breathe in the fresh air on a river cruise, scenic sea plane or helicopter flight - all options for today! For a bit of adventure..quad biking over the dunes or jet boating through wild rivers! This afternoon we will travel inland past the moonscape hills of Queenstown before climbing.
Overnight: Tarraleah Highland Village (Lodges)
Meals: Breakfast, Dinner
Day 4 - LAKE St CLAIR to HOBART.
We wake beside Australia’s deepest freshwater lake. Take a stroll and perhaps spot a platypus or wild animals. We take some time to experience the Mt Field National Park. Nearby we visit a wildlife sanctuary to see up close the Tasmanian devil! From here it’s a short drive before we reach our tours end at Hobart.
