If you have booked a kennel, at check-in our team will provide you with a yellow tag instructing you to proceed to the nearest kennel with your pet. Kennels are located on decks 3 and 5. At each kennel location, there is a combination of both large and small kennels. You can choose the most appropriate sized kennel for your pet.

Deluxe Cabins

Ocean View Recliners are located in a private lounge accessible only by swipe card.

Facilities Onboard

Dining and Bars: Enjoy a meal on board Spirit of Tasmania or relax in one of the bars. Choose from two dining styles; a la carte or buffet. Snacks are also available at the bars and gift shop.

A la carte restaurant: Dine in Leatherwood Restaurant for a fantastic meal with delicious Tasmanian produce. Enjoy a two or three course meal including a side and a tea or coffee to finish off the night. To make a booking, visit the restaurant after boarding (bookings cannot be made prior).

Buffet: Enjoy a range of hot and cold dishes at the buffet, the Captain's Table. A $30 meal deal is now available which includes a large plate of food, a dessert and a drink. More details on board.

Main bar: Sit back and watch the scenery pass by as you have a drink in the casual surrounds of the main bar, the Spirit Bar. Pies, sausage rolls, pasties and sandwiches are also available at the Spirit Bar.

Lounge: Enjoy the atmosphere or watch the TV's in the Lavender Cafe. Relax with a coffee, beer or wine and indulge in a snack.

Deck bars: On day sailings, have a drink at the deck 9 Bar Kiosk. Or visit Due South Bar Kiosk on deck 10 and soak up the great views en route to Tasmania.

Portable entertainment players (Shipmates): Hire a portable entertainment player (Shipmate) from Reception on deck 7. Enjoy more than 24 hours of comedies, movies, kids' cartoons and music. Shipmates are available to hire for just $20 for the entire sailing.

Gaming lounge: Take a chance to start or end your holiday in a winning way. Enjoy all the latest gaming machines in Star Club, our gaming lounge. On night sailings, Star Club is open from 7.00pm until late. On day sailings, Star Club is open from 10.00am until 6.00pm.

On board cinema: Catch a movie on a day or night sailing. All movies are shown in the cinema free of charge. For sailings departing at 7.30pm (night sailing), movies are shown at 8.00pm (G or PG rated) and 10.00pm (PG or M rated). For sailings departing at 9am (day sailing), movies are shown at 9.30am, 12.30pm and 3.30pm (all G or PG rated). Short educational movies are also shown on day sailings at 11.15am and 2.45pm. For sailings departing at 9.00pm (night sailing on the same day as a day sailing), a movie is shown at 9.30pm and is rated M. Snacks are available at the gift shop.

Internet: Catch up on your emails, book accommodation or check out places to visit in Tasmania at the coin-operated internet kiosk on deck 7. If you have your own laptop on board, wireless internet is available on the ships through our partner, Jimojo. Once connected to the wireless network, simply use your credit card to purchase access time. Alternatively, if you bring your own laptop and a Telstra Next-G wireless card on board, you can access the internet on your own account. Access is available via broadband (up to 7.2 Mpbs) for the entire voyage.

Kids Playroom: All aboard for loads of fun in Pirate Pete's, our room for the littlies. The room contains play equipment and a TV. The playroom is open for the duration of the sailing and is located on deck 7, next to the Captain's Table buffet. Guardian supervision is required.

Games arcade: Have fun playing arcade-style coin operated games in Galactica Games Room on deck 9. Each game costs $1 to $2 and a change machine is available in the room. Guardian supervision is required.

Terminal Locations

Ship operates between Port Melbourne, Victoria and East Devonport, Tasmania.

** Parking at the Melbourne teminal (Station Pier)

Parking in close proximity to the Melbourne terminal is available and is monitored by the City of Port Phillip Council. The closest car park to the terminal is Station Pier car park where parking meters (ticket machines) operate until midnight seven days a week. Note: Free street parking in the area is difficult to find due to permit zones.

Probably the most important piece of advice we can offer you—don’t miss the ship! Check-in commences 2.5 hours prior to departure and closes 45 minutes before the ship is to set sail.

Remember to bring a driver’s license or passport etc., as photo ID is required to check in.
