Departing Broome early we head east towards the Gibb River Road and arrive at Windjana Gorge in the Napier Ranges for lunch. After lunch we will explore the gorge to view the native birds and resident freshwater crocodiles.

This afternoon we explore Tunnel Creek and hear the legend of he Aboriginal freedom fighter, Jandamarra - before heading to Silent Grove for our first night at our campsite under the stars.

This morning enjoy waking up to the wilderness so very far away from the hustle and bustle of city life. On day 2 you will explore more of the region's gorges including Bell, Galvans and Manning.

The water levels at the time of your journey will determine which gorges you visit, however each are unique and special in their own right. After a day of walking and swimming in these magnificent natural attractions we will travel to our overnight location of Mount Elizabeth Station.

Heading further east we will explore, swim and hike this amazing part of Western Australia.

We will drive across the Pentecost River and visit the beautiful Emma Gorge before arriving at El Questro for our first of two nights in this outback oasis.

On day 4 we will discover some of the one million acres of the El Questro Wilderness Park. Followed by a soak in Zebedee Springs and visit El Questro Gorge. We will then continue your exploration through the many optional activities on offer.

Today we will make our way to Purnululu National Park, home of the world famous Bungle Bungles. On this afternoon we will begin exploring the amazing sandstone formations of Echidna Chasm before giving the 4WD a hard-earned rest and settling into camp for a relaxing evening.

On this morning we explore Picanninny Creek, The Domes and Cathedral Gorge with plenty of opportunities to take amazing photos of the famous 'beehive' shaped domes. There is also the option to take a helicopter ride over the domes, definitely one to tick off of the bucket list! We will then head towards Kununurra and make camp at the Argyle Tourist Village.

On this morning we explore Australia's largest man-made lake, Lake Argyle. Take an optional cruise on the lake, we'll then visit the Dam Wall and have lunch by the Ord River before we cross the border into the Northern Territory and set up camp at Victoria River.

Our final day sees us visit one of the Northern Territory's most stunning areas, Nitmiluk National Park, with its towering cliff walls and meandering waterways. We visit Edith Falls before arriving in Darwin in the early evening.

  • The Kimberley and Top End is a rugged and remote area and the gorges and waterholes we visit are largely untouched by development. This safari is suitable for fit and active people with a good level of fitness. The safari involves hiking and climbing often in high humidity and temperatures for several kilometres at a time. Any fitness or medical issues must be advised at time of booking as medical attention can be many hours away.

  • Children are not permitted on our extended tours and all passengers must be 18 years or older however there is no age restriction on day tours and teenagers over the age of 12 may travel on Broome to Darwin Tours accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.

 Attention 

This tour includes hikes up to 8 kilometres per day, often requiring some scrambling over uneven terrain. The tour requires a good level of fitness and is recommended for active travellers who want to experience the wild nature of Western Australia.

Extreme temperatures can be experienced while travelling in the outback (very hot, very cold, and very humid). Please bring a small day pack for use when hiking and a pair of hiking boots is recommended.

 

Getting Involved on Tour

Our guides are passionate about providing the ultimate customer experience. However, to keep the tour running smoothly, we kindly ask that as a team, you actively assist your guide in day-to-day activities, including;

the packing/unpacking of the bus.

the preparation of meals and cleaning up afterwards.

Fitness

Our tours are aimed at the young and the young at heart and they all include hikes of 2+ kilometers over moderate to difficult terrain, often in high temperatures. A moderate level of fitness is required to fully participate in most activities. Our itineraries that travel north from Perth include activities such as sand boarding, snorkeling, swimming and canyoning (hiking, climbing and wading through gorges).

Our tours to Broome and through the Kimberley and Top End include hikes of up to 8 kilometers often in high temperatures and humidity and involve a degree of canyoning (hiking, climbing and wading through gorges). A high level of fitness is required to fully participate in the activities on these tours.

 

Swimming and Snorkeling

Our guides are there every step of the way to make sure you have  safe and hands on adventure tour experience, however, our guides are not qualified to conduct or instruct in water activities such as swimming or snorkeling. None of our tours require you to enter water if you do not feel comfortable doing so and choosing to engage in in water activities is a decision you should make based on your own ability and confidence to do so safely. For this reason we require passengers to hire their own snorkeling equipment (on tours with snorkeling as an optional activity) and by doing so you, at your own free will, are assuming responsibility for you own actions while using the equipment you have hired. Optional activities that include in water activities (such as Whale Shark Swims) are conducted by trusted 3rd party company’s with the necessary skills, experience, qualifications and licences to make sure you are safe, comfortable and having the best experience possible.

  • Meals are provided at cafes and restaurants as well as fresh meals prepared by the group that include hot and cold lunches, hot dinners with salads and vegetables and continental style breakfasts.
