Overview

Experience the incredible scenery, aboriginal art and Kimberley wildlife of the Gibb River Road. For those with limited time this is the only road to take through the Kimberley. Explore the Kimberleys ancient mountain ranges, gorges and rivers along the Gibb River Road as you travel between Broome and Kununurra

Itinerary

Broome

Day 1 - Broome and Windjana Gorge

We depart Broome and travel via the Derby Prison Tree for a short visit. We leave the bitumen behind as we enter the Gibb River Road, almost instantly we can feel the remoteness. A walk up Windjana Gorge this afternoon is sure to impress. The area is rich in Aboriginal culture and your guide will tell you about the outlaw Jandamurra, the Bunaba people and the battle of Devil's Pass. (Lunch, Dinner)

Day 2 - Windjana Gorge to Bells Gorge

This morning were off to Tunnel Creek, have your bathers and torches ready. Here you will get your feet wet as we explore Jandamurra's hideout. This amazing tunnel cuts through the Napier Range and is rich in history, ask your guide. Afternoon sees us off to Bells Gorge. (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)

Day 3 - Bells Gorge to Manning Gorge

Leaving Bells Gorge this morning, we travel through the beautiful scenery of the Kimberleys highest mountain range, King Leopold Ranges, on our way to Galvans Gorge. This gorge will tempt you to don the bathers. For those feeling like a walk, a visit to Manning Gorge this afternoon is recommended. (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)

El Questro Station

Day 4 - Manning Gorge to El Questro

Our journey today takes us through the majestic Cockburn Ranges, have your cameras ready for the spectacular scenery and panoramic views of the Cockburn Ranges, Cambridge Gulf and the twin rivers of the Durack and Pentecost. (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)

Day 5 - El Questro to Kununurra

The morning sees us soaking in the thermal pools of Zebedee Springs, and an option to hike some of the spectacular gorges of El Questro before we head to the Kimberley town of Kununurra where our journey ends.

Accommodated Tours

Accommodated tours stay at farms, stations or country hostels. Room configurations vary from 2 to 10 bed bunkhouse styled rooms with shared toilet and shower facilities. Upgrades are available for twin share and single supplement.

Camping Tours

Utilise high quality camping equipment, two person tents, self inflating mattresses and custom built kitchen trailers. These tours are designed for camping in comfort. Where possible stopovers are at permanent camps with serviced WCs and shower facilities. Camp stretchers are available for hire on request.

Hiking, Swimming, Snorkelling, Scuba Diving, 4 x 4 , Sand Boarding, Boat Cruises, Quad Bikes, Scenic Flights (Some activities are optional extra)

Luggage

Please keep luggage to a minimum packed in soft bags. Suitcases by prior arrangement only.

Deposits & Final Payments

20% deposit required on booking. Balance 30 days prior to departure date. Bookings made within 30 days of departure, must be paid in full on receipt of booking confirmation / invoice.

Cancellations

All cancellations are subject to a 10% administration fee. A fee of 50% of the total tour cost will apply if cancelled within 14 days of the date of travel and if cancelled under 9 days from the date of travel a cancellation penalty of 100% applies. Travel Insurance and Cancellation Insurance is strongly recommended on all tours.
