Health and Fitness

It is expected that all participants enjoy good health and fitness levels, as tours are reasonably active. Tours contain swimming and bush walks over sometimes undulating terrain. Given the sometimes physical nature of these trips, it is the passenger's own responsibility to determine their suitability to complete this trip.

Permanent Wilderness Camps & Lodges

Our network of exclusive Wilderness Camps and Lodges are fully serviced and permanently staffed offering: unique safari-style twin share tented accommodation, with low voltage lighting, conventional beds offering crisp linen, doonas and pillows. Each wilderness camp has a fully equipped kitchen and restaurant area. All our wilderness camps have hot and cold showers, composting toilets and are environmentally sensitive.

Bungle Bungle Wilderness Lodge offers the outstanding accommodation within Purnululu National Park. Our exclusive award winning Lodge features tented cabins with private en suite facilities, a first for Purnululu National Park.

Please note permanent tented cabins do not contain a 240v power outlet. As such, opportunities for re-charging of batteries for digital cameras and camcorders are limited. We recommend that you do bring additional, fully charged batteries to avoid any disappointment.

Climate

MAY/ SEPTEMBER/ OCTOBER: - Fine and hot with mild/warm nights.
JUNE - AUGUST: - Fine and warm days with cool/cold nights.
Average minimum and maximum temperatures are Broome readings. Allow some variation for Purnululu National Park where night time temperatures can reach freezing during June-August.

Communications

All  4WD vehicles are fitted with Satellite Telephones and all camps have telephone or Sat. phone communication. These facilities are not available for use by passengers due to the high operating costs of these facilities. It is recommended that passengers carry with them phone cards that can be used at phone boxes and other private telephones along the way.

Will my mobile phone work in the Kimberley?

Throughout your Kimberley Adventure you will travelling through some of Australia's most remote regions and your mobile phone will not have any reception. The amount of coverage in the Kimberley varies between service providers so we recommend you contact your provider to check on specifics. You will receive emergency contact details for our Wilderness Camps and Lodges with your documentation should someone need to get in touch with you during your trip.
