Map of Tour

Setting off early from Broome at 7.00am we travel through the vast Kimberley outback to Purnululu National Park, recently listed as a World Heritage site. This spectacular wilderness park is the home of the Bungle Bungle Range. More than 20 million years of erosion and river movements have formed these huge black and orange striped domes. Travelling via Fitzroy Crossing and Halls Creek we tackle the rugged 4-wheel drive track into the national park, arriving late afternoon at the Bungle Bungles. Here we enjoy a 2 night stay in the heart of this World Heritage wilderness.

We then travel to the southern side of the Bungle Bungles Massif where we take an easy to moderate 3 km walk into the natural amphitheatre setting of Cathedral Gorge, here try out the acoustics within this natural amphitheatre. Also while here an easy-paced walk along the dry bed of Piccaninny Creek is the best way to inspect the domes up close. This afternoon you have the option to take a scenic helicopter flight over the Bungle Bungles (approx. $295pp, own expense), experience the thrill of taking off in a helicopter and enjoy views into incredible ravines and gorges below. Enjoy drinks as the sun sets over the Bungles, before returning to camp for dinner.
