Itinerary

Day 1 - Perth to Ayers Rock

05.30 Our Perth representative will collect you from your Perth accommodation and transfer you to the Jandakot Flight Centre.

06.00 Depart Perth for Kalgoorlie, brief stop in Kalgoorlie before orbiting the Kalgoorlie gold mines prior to tracking out over the vast Western Australian desert country to Ayers Rock / Uluru

12.30 Arrive Ayers Rock and transfer to your overnight accommodation at either“Sails in the Desert” or “Desert Gardens Hotel”Free time until 2 p.m. before joining a “Kata Tjuta Encounter”. Tour departs early afternoon for the domes of Kata-Tjuta (the Olgas). As you arrive at Walpa Gorge (Olga Gorge) your guide will describe the geology of the area and how it has evolved over millions of years. As you walk through the Gorge learn how the Aboriginal people used the plants of the area in their daily life. Small group touring with a knowledgeable and sympathetic guide is the best way to appreciate this World Heritage area. Tour is designed to arrive back to Ayers Rock Resort approximately half an hour before the “Sounds of Silence Dinner “ commences, so there is time to freshen up

19.30 Sounds of Silence Dinner. Dine under a million stars at the award winning Sounds of Silence restaurant. Travel out to a secluded dining setting in the middle of the desert. Sip on a glass of champagne with the sound of a lone didgeridoo filling the air as the sun slowly sets over the Olgas (Kata Tjuta) and Ayers Rock (Uluru).Dine on a gourmet BBQ of Australian delicacies such as kangaroo, barramundi and buffalo, then sit back and take in the mystery of the desert at night as an astronomer takes you on a tour of the clear Southern night skies.

Day 2 - Ayers Rock and Kings Canyon

05.30 Spirit of Uluru. For Uluru this is the most comprehensive tour that provides an opportunity to best understand the natural and cultural significance of Uluru. The Spirit of Uluru tour is a vehicle based tour that commences prior to sunrise and places you in the most grand and deeply moving places of Uluru. Short walks will bring you close to this wonderful and powerful place, viewing rock art, waterholes and appreciating the unique flora and fauna of Uluru. A special feature is the appreciation of the exquisite as well as the dramatic sculpturing of Uluru. This tour provides time to amble, to absorb images and to gain an insight into Uluru's remarkable presence. The final step is to the Uluru and Kata Tjuta Cultural Centre.

09.00 Ayers Rock to Kings Canyon Fly along the George Gill Range to the spectacular Kings Canyon. View the Lost City, the Garden of Eden and the path of the rim walk. On your return you will see Reedy Gorge, Lila and Wunmera Aboriginal communities, Kathleen Springs and opportunities to spot Uluru, Kata Tjuta and Mount Conner on the Horizon

10.00 Arrive Kings Canyon - Time to explore Kings Canyon accompanied by your pilot where you can make the rocky climb to the rim of Kings Canyon to be rewarded with marvellous views. The climb may take up to 3 hours and is for those with a good level of fitness. Alternatively, you may wish to explore the boulder-strewn canyon floor, an easier walk

13.00 Depart Kings Canyon – return flight to Perth, landing at Warburton for a refuelling stop. Arrive Perth approx 20.30 hours subject to prevailing head winds.
