An early start from Ayers Rock Resort should reward you with a desert sunrise en route to Kings Canyon. In Watarrka National Park you can make the rocky climb to the rim of the canyon and be rewarded with breathtaking views of the park and into the canyon itself. The climb is recommended for those with a good level of fitness. Alternatively, you may wish to explore the boulder-strewn canyon floor, an easier shady walk that follows the trail between the two sheer walls of the canyon. Stop at Kings Canyon Resort to purchase lunch (own expense) before continuing to Alice Springs, where your Short Break concludes.
