Experience one of Australia's most scenic coastal drives along the Captain Cook Highway. Visit the unique 'Wildlife Habitat' animal sanctuary in Port Douglas. Take a guided sanctuary walk providing you with the opportunity to learn more about the myriad of wildlife, included the endangered cassowary. Enjoy free time meandering through the different exhibits: rainforest, wetlands and grassland, and have your photo taken holding a koala, snake or crocodile (extra cost).
After crossing the Daintree River on cable-driven ferry we arrive at Cape Tribulation we enjoy a fresh and hearty lunch at the Beach House (included). Enjoy the afternoon swimming or simply relaxing on the stunning white sands of Cape Tribulation Beach.
Carrying on our journey this afternoon, keep an eye out for local wildlife on our Guided Rainforest walk. We depart Cape Tribulation and head towards Alexandra Lookout for outstanding views and some memorable photographs. Spot Estuarine Crocodiles and water birds on a 1 hour Daintree River Cruise through the magnificent mangroves. As we cross the river and travel along the rainforest-fringed Cape Tribulation Road through Daintree National Park, your guide will explain the history of the magnificent wilderness region.
We will arrive back into Cairns at approximately 7:30pm.
