Travel from Brisbane, north past the Glasshouse Mountains to Noosa River Ferry and Cooloola Coast Beach (tides permitting).Early Lunch stop at Rainbow Beach. Take time to relax, visit the local beach to swim overlooking coloured sands or wander through the local shops. Photograph or hike Double Island Lighthouse and Rainbow Beach coloured sands before Ferry Cruise to Fraser Island.
4WD Fraser Island's 75 Mile eastern Surf Beach to Govi Creek, take time to relax, swim or photo this beautiful creek. This great afternoon on the beach highway has the bonus of a Lake Wabby visit late in the afternoon. It's famous sand dune and Fraser Islands deepest Lake. Spot turtles, and take time in the dune for photo, sand castles and sun tanning. Return through melaleuca and cycad forest.
Stop at the shops for dinner or travel the surf beach to the world heritage campsite, evening beach walk, nature trails, wildlife and more. For those of you who are camping, time to return to the environmental eco camp of Dilli Village. This great location on the surf beach of Fraser Island, with grass campsites and the island's newest Hot showers and toilets. Take time to explore the walks and hikes close to the camp area, with the world famous Fraser Island Great Hike - starting from the door step of Dilli Village. Lake Boomanjin, Other trails travel to Govi Creek, Eastern Surf Beach and Southern Lake Hike.
Campers rise early and travel to see the sunrise over the Ocean and surf beach of Fraser Island, enjoy a walk or hike before breakfast. Travel back to the resort for a quick stop, then onto Lake McKenzie or Lake Birrabeen. Spend the morning enjoying these unique lakes. Swim, Hike and photograph the beaches, lakes and wildlife. In the cool of the rainforest take the boardwalk along the creek. See rare giant King Fern, world heritage satinay forest and crystal clear waters of Wanggoolba Creek meandering between Picabeen Palms and Central Station. A picnic Lunch included and 4WD through forest either via Lake Boomanjin or Eurong Beach Resort, then on to 75 Mile surf beach to Eli Creek and the famous Maheno Shipwreck. Read the long list of journeys the vessel had taken prior to its beach stranding. Return to Rainbow beach, Noosa and Brisbane.
