If you are looking for an inspiring day paddle with fluted sea cliffs, sea caves, shipwrecks and wildlife, this is the trip for you. We depart from Hobart, travelling by comfortable air-conditioned minivan to the beautiful Fortescue Bay, in the heart of the Tasman National Park.
We paddle beneath 200-metre-high cliffs towards Cape Hauy, the Candlestick and the Totem Pole (famed by rock climbers the world over). Wildlife is abundant and we keep a look out for the Australian fur seals that like to reside on the rocks, dolphins, sea eagles, penguins and if we are very lucky even whales.
A delicious picnic lunch including fresh Tasmanian produce is enjoyed at a secluded bay before paddling back along the coast, pausing at a semi-submerged shipwreck on the way. Your guides will fill you in on the natural history and wildlife of the region as you soak up the beauty of this stunning stretch of Tasmania's coastline.
While kayaking experience is not necessary, you do need to have a basic level of fitness to enjoy this full-day tour. Not recommended for children under 16.
**All full day tours depart from the Tasmanian Travel and Information Centre, Corner of Elizabeth and Davey Streets, Hobart
Suitable for beginners to experienced paddlers, All tours include gourmet lunch and refreshments, All sea-kayaking equipment included, Experienced guides.

Get up-close and personal with the southern hemisphere's highest sea cliffs OR enjoy a relaxing day paddle exploring Hobart's diverse river and coast.
Two exhilarating and different adventures.
On the Tasman Peninsula paddle we kayak along the Tasman National Park coastline appreciating the scale of Australia's highest sea cliffs and keeping an eye out for the resident Australian fur seals.
On our Hobart's Beaches, Cliffs and Caves paddle (formally called the Tinderbox Paddle) we paddle amongst tranquil bays and beneath the lichen-covered cliffs, explore sea caves, enjoy views of Bruny Island and leave footprints on idyllic sandy beaches.
Both full day tours depart from the Tasmanian Travel and Information Centre, Corner of Elizabeth and Davey Streets, Hobart

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
While kayaking experience is not necessary this tour can be physically demanding and you do need to be able to paddle consistently for up to five hours (you do get a break for lunch though!). If you are unsure if this paddle is suitable for you, please contact us or check out our Hobart's Cliffs, Caves and Beaches full-day paddle. Not recommended for children under 16.
WEATHER
We believe Fortescue Bay offers one of the best day paddling locations in Australia, but it is exposed to swell and strong winds in adverse weather conditions. If the weather is not suitable on the day you book we will call you the day prior and offer you the choice of another day, a different paddle in more protected waters or a full refund.
