Wineglass Bay is nestled in the Freycinet National Park on the East Coast of Tasmania. One of Tasmania's first National Parks this is a coastal area rich in stunning landscapes. Pink granite mountains form the backdrop for secluded bays, pristine waters, white sandy beaches, local wildlife and walking trails.
We travel from Launceston heading south to the historic village of Ross. Enjoy the picturesque street-scape visit the famous Bakery, perhaps try the local Scallop Pie. From here we head east to the coastal town of Bicheno. Nature World provides us with an entertaining and interactive visit with some of our local wildlife before we continue on to the Freycinet National Park.
We walk as a group to the Wineglass Bay Lookout where your guide will help you take those sought after photographs and offer you some walking options for the day. For the keen walkers you can continue the walk down to Wineglass beach (2.5 hr return) or return from the lookout with our guide to visit the other natural attractions within the park. Travel with our guide to explore more of the National Park and visit Honeymoon Bay, Sleepy Bay and Cape Tourville lookout and short walk. All walking and location options are time and weather permitting.
On our return to Launceston we stop for one last coastal gem at Friendly Beaches, a fabulous highlight, as we leave the beaches and bays behind. We have a brief stop at the Freycinet Marine Farm for anyone interested in sampling the local oysters, mussels or crayfish fresh from the pristine waters.
We return to your Launceston accommodation around 7pm.
